How do I upgrade my Hytale server?

If your Hytale server is experiencing lag, low performance, or you're reaching player limits, upgrading to a larger plan can help improve your server's performance and support more players.
When should I upgrade?
You should consider upgrading your Hytale server if:
- Players experience lag or stuttering during gameplay
- RAM usage is consistently high (check the Console tab in your panel)
- CPU usage is constantly at maximum capacity
- You're reaching the player limit for your current plan
- Performance drops when multiple players are online
- Server crashes or becomes unresponsive under load
- You want to support more players than your current plan allows
- Heavy modding requires more resources
Current Hytale server plans
Our Hytale servers come in different sizes:
- 4GB plan: 5-10 players recommended (€9.50/month)
- 6GB plan: 10-20 players recommended (€14.00/month)
- 8GB plan: 15-30 players recommended (€18.00/month)
- 10GB plan: 20-40 players recommended (€24.00/month)

How do I upgrade my Hytale server?
Upgrading your Hytale server is done through our support team. Follow these steps:
Option 1: Create a support ticket (Recommended)
Log in to your client area
Navigate to your Hytale server service
Click on Support → Open Ticket or go directly to create a support ticket
Select "Upgrade Request" or "Technical Support" as the category
Include the following information in your ticket:
- Your current server plan (4GB, 6GB, 8GB, or 10GB)
- The plan you want to upgrade to
- Reasons for the upgrade (lag, more players, etc.)
- Your server name or ID (if available)
Submit the ticket and our team will process your upgrade request
Processing time
Upgrade requests are typically processed within 24 hours during business days. You'll receive confirmation via email once your upgrade is completed.

What happens during the upgrade?
- Our team reviews your request and confirms the upgrade
- Minimal downtime: Most upgrades can be done with only a few minutes of downtime
- Your server is upgraded to the new plan
- You receive confirmation via email
- Billing is adjusted pro-rata for the upgrade
Server restart required
Your server will need to be restarted during the upgrade process. We recommend scheduling upgrades during low-traffic periods if possible.
How much does an upgrade cost?
- Pricing is pro-rata: You only pay the difference between your current plan and the new plan
- Monthly pricing: The upgrade cost is calculated based on the monthly price difference
- Billing cycle: Your next invoice will reflect the new plan pricing

Annual billing discounts

Before upgrading, consider trying these optimizations first:

- Reduce render distance and other performance-heavy settings
- Limit the number of mods or remove resource-intensive mods
- Check for mod conflicts that might be causing performance issues
- Restart your server regularly to clear memory leaks

Downgrading
If you need to downgrade to a smaller plan:
- Contact support via support ticket
- Make sure your current player count fits within the new plan's limits
- Downgrades are also possible, but ensure your server fits within the new resources
Before downgrading
Make sure you won't exceed the player limits or resource limits of the smaller plan. Consider your current usage before requesting a downgrade.
