What is a whitelist and what is the advantage of a whitelist on your Minecraft server?

A whitelist on your server gives you the ability to determine who you want on the server and who you don't. Only players you add can then join the server.

Advantages of a whitelist on your Minecraft server

• Security of your server: The biggest advantage of a whitelist is that you don't get unknown people on your server. This way you prevent people from wanting to ruin your world.

• Control over your players: With a whitelist you have 100% control over which players you allow and don't allow on your server. This way you can keep people you don't know outside your server!

How do I set up a whitelist on my server?

1. Go to the Minecraft Panel and select your server.

2. To enable the whitelist, type the following:

whitelist on

Good job! 🎉

The whitelist is now enabled on the server. Let's now add people to the whitelist!

3. Now we add someone, we do this by typing the following:

whitelist add <username>

Added

In this example we added the player 'Planetnode' to our whitelist.

4. Now we're going to remove someone from the whitelist, we do this by typing the following:

whitelist remove <username>

Removed

In this example we removed the player 'Planetnode' from our whitelist.
