How can I monitor my website's resource usage?
How to monitor bandwidth, disk space, and other resource usage for your webhosting.
DirectAdmin and the PlanetNode client area show how much disk space, bandwidth, and other resources your account uses.
In DirectAdmin
- Log in to DirectAdmin via the link in your welcome email, or go to my.planetnode.net, open your webhosting product, and click the login button
- Check the System Info or Statistics area on the main page
- You’ll see:
- Disk usage — files, databases, email
- Bandwidth — data transfer (if shown)
- Email accounts — number in use
- Databases — number and size
In the client area
- Log in to my.planetnode.net
- Open your webhosting product
- View usage and limits for your plan
TIP
If you’re approaching your limits, consider upgrading your plan or cleaning up old files and databases. If you repeatedly hit CloudLinux limits despite optimization, a managed VPS with a control panel may be a better fit.
CloudLinux limits
PlanetNode uses CloudLinux for stability. Your account has limits on:
- CPU and memory per process
- Number of processes
- I/O usage
If you hit these limits, pages may load slowly or show errors. Optimize heavy scripts or upgrade your plan if needed. For dedicated resources and full control, see When should I consider a managed VPS?.
Checking disk usage in File Manager
- DirectAdmin → Files → File Manager
- Check folder sizes
- Remove unnecessary backups, logs, or old uploads
